About The Position

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is seeking an Employment Services Coordinator (ESC) to join the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Adult and Dislocated Worker (ADW) Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Unit. This unit supports the WIOA ADW Program across Ohio’s 20 local workforce areas. The ESC will report directly to the WIOA ADW Program Supervisor. The WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker programs provide training and employment services to job seekers, while the TTA Unit offers guidance, training, and support to staff in the local areas. In this role, the ESC will focus on learning, understanding, and applying WIOA ADW policy, which is essential for delivering effective training and technical assistance. The ESC will also begin developing case management skills using the state’s case management system, ARIES. This is a full-time position with standard workdays Monday through Friday, with hours between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The position is located in Dayton, OH, and will require travel, potentially including overnight stays.

Requirements

  • Option 1: 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in state & federal regulations governing implemented training &/or employment programs
  • 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in public relations
  • 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in human resources training & development programs
  • 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in labor market data & employment trends
  • 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in manpower planning
  • 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of computer terminal &/or personal computer
  • Option 2: Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to email inquiries in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Mailbox ([email protected])
  • Research and interpret local, state and federal policies and procedures, Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Administrative Code, training webinars, and desk aides
  • Answer incoming calls from the JFS phone system and provide appropriate assistance and information
  • Deliver training sessions, either virtually or in person, on a monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, or as needed schedule
  • Creating, updating, and improving training modules and reference materials using PowerPoint, Articulate 360, Storyline 360
  • Respond to legislative inquiries and program-related complaints
  • Assist local areas with ARIES requests such as data entry, backdates, and data validation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
