Pre-Doctoral Fellow, Radiation Oncology

Mass General Brigham•Boston, MA
•$41,933 - $60,341•Hybrid

About The Position

The Predoctoral Research Fellow conducts research in biomechanical modeling for radiation oncology, developing, validating, and applying computational tools that could eventually inform radiation treatment planning. Projects include developing novel biomechanical tools for radiation oncology applications and validating open-source, commercially available, and prototype biomechanical modeling tools. The Fellow uses large language models and other AI tools to complement biomechanical and digital twin modeling, and performs retrospective data extraction, statistical analysis, and counterfactual radiotherapy treatment-planning studies. As a member of the Mass General Brigham Radiation Oncology research team, the Fellow is expected to conduct research leading to peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international meetings, with faculty guidance. Under the supervision of Kamal Singhrao, Ph.D., DABR, the Fellow designs and carries out sophisticated, independent experiments. The Fellow is encouraged to publish research results and receive credit for their scholarship during the appointment, and receives training, professional development, and mentorship. The Fellow works in laboratory space provided by the Department of Radiation Oncology at Mass General Brigham, with the potential to establish project-specific collaborations. The role is hybrid, scheduled for 40 hours per week, and has a day shift. The annual pay range is $41,932.80–$60,340.80.
