About The Position

As a Pre-Construction Analyst II with ENGIE Distributed Solar and Storage, you will support the successful advancement of distributed generation solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects from early stage development through notice to proceed. You will work within a cross functional team environment, collaborating closely with Project Development, Origination, Business Development, Engineering and Delivery, Procurement, Legal, Tax, and AIFA teams to ensure projects are shovel ready at the appropriate milestone. In this role, you will contribute to Engineering, Procurement, and construction (EPC) cost estimating, budgeting, procurement strategy, installer selection, licensing compliance, and early stage risk assessment. You will review project information for new prospects and support projects within the active pipeline, helping evaluate constructability, cost drivers, and execution strategies. You will manage multiple assignments across various projects and portfolios, maintaining strong organization and attention to detail while supporting project delivery objectives. Reporting to the Manager of Pre-Construction, your roles and responsibilities include: Assist in budgeting and EPC cost estimation of Distributed Generation (DG) Solar and Battery. Manage and assist in preparation of requests for proposals for installation services and strategic equipment. Work closely with project managers and engineering / design team to understand and review the project design and provide inputs on constructability and potential cost savings. Support proposal preparation, including due diligence site visit, project risk register, preliminary budget, and scheduling. Assist in reviewing licensing requirements for projects in different states including engineering, contractor and electrical licenses. Data analysis and preparing reports to track the financial performance of past projects. Plan for and attend, as needed, exploratory shutdown for accurate cost estimation. Support supplier and contractor onboarding, attend technical conferences and pre construction site visits as required, and organize contractor and equipment selection meetings. Carries out other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Construction Management, Science, or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience; in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree with four (4) years of professional experience.
  • Knowledge in the renewable energy industry, specifically with solar photovoltaic systems and or BESS.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of projects in a fast paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross functional teams
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with experience supporting cost estimation, financial tracking, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Power BI, along with experience using Procore, RSMeans, and Customer Relationship Management tools such as Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion.
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 15% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
