About The Position

The Pre-Arranged Funeral Counselor is responsible for meeting personal monthly and annual sales targets through account management, new business development, and sales. The role targets clients in the assigned region, develops new business, increases business from new and existing clients, and provides service and support to company clients. All duties must be performed consistently with the company’s mission and values and in accordance with its policies and procedures.

The counselor responds to quote requests, pursues leads and referrals, and may use their own knowledge base to develop business. The position involves in-home sales and group presentations. The company expects counselors to uphold its values of Respect, Understanding, Creativity, and Professionalism.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• A valid insurance license may be required in some states.
• High level of comfort using computer systems in a sales environment.
• High level of integrity, dedication, and desire to succeed.
• Desire to help others and earn a competitive income.
• Good driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Comfort with in-home sales and conducting group presentations.

Nice To Haves

• Strong sales experience in the funeral or life insurance industry is preferred.
• Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management systems is a plus.
• Creative, outgoing, and energetic.

• Maximize opportunities to gain business from client families.
• Develop new business and increase spending by new and existing clients in line with targets.
• Respond to quote requests in accordance with company procedures.
• Generate new business from leads, referrals, or personal knowledge.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing company clients by providing outstanding service and support.
