Advanced Practice Provider_ Pre-Admission Testing
About The Position
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), who may be an APRN or PA, serves in Pre-Admission Testing and performs preoperative history and physical examinations. The APP sees new and returning patients for needs including physical exams and discussions of postoperative care. The APP may provide general medical treatment in an office, clinic, or hospital setting in collaboration with physicians when required. In a hospital setting, the scope of practice is governed by the delineation of privileges. This part-time position is located at The Christ Hospital Health Network main campus, 2139 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219. The schedule is one 8-hour shift every Monday (0.2 FTE).
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Hold a DEA license.
- Hold BLS certification.
- For a Certified Nurse Practitioner: hold Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner certification verified by AACN, AANP, or ANCC, and a current, valid license from the Ohio Board of Nursing or applicable state board.
- For a Physician Assistant: graduate from an accredited physician assistant program with a master's degree; hold certification verified by NCCPA; hold a current, valid license from the State Medical Board of Ohio or applicable state medical board; and hold a current certificate to prescribe from the State Medical Board of Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative history and physical examinations.
- See new and returning patients for physical exams and discussions of postoperative care.
- Provide general medical treatment to patients in an office, clinic, or hospital setting, collaborating with physicians when required.
