About The Position

TYLin is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial City Solutions Practice Manager to lead and grow its Los Angeles transportation planning and advisory practice. As part of TYLin's Advisory & Planning business, the City Solutions practice delivers multimodal transportation planning, traffic engineering, and mobility innovation while partnering across the firm's Transportation, Water, and Buildings sectors. The Practice Manager will drive business growth, strengthen client relationships, oversee project delivery, and lead a high-performing team. This leader will play a key role in implementing the regional growth strategy, expanding market share, ensuring technical excellence, and representing TYLin through industry engagement and thought leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional registration preferred.
  • Approximately 20+ years of progressively responsible experience in consulting or the public sector, including leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and practice growth.
  • Strong operational and financial management skills.
  • Established relationships within the Southern California transportation market.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies to achieve annual sales goals.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify new market opportunities.
  • Lead pursuits, including teaming, proposals, interviews, pricing strategies, and go/no-go decisions.
  • Partner with Practice, Sector, and Area Leaders to grow TYLin's presence in the Southern California market.
  • Serve as Project Principal or Project Manager on strategic projects.
  • Ensure high-quality project delivery, client satisfaction, and effective resource planning.
  • Promote quality assurance and technical excellence across the practice.
  • Manage regional financial performance, including revenue, utilization, profitability, and forecasting.
  • Oversee business planning and operating budgets.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
