Requirements

  • 5+ years of people leadership experience (veterinary preferred, but not required)
  • See both the forest and the trees—you can zoom into the details while never losing sight of the big picture
  • Lead with humility and openness, and see feedback as a tool for building trust and driving growth.
  • Know how to create psychological safety, set expectations, and hold people to them with warmth
  • Are excited to try new things, make mistakes, and help make something that doesn’t exist yet

Responsibilities

  • Help build, coach, and lead a team that delivers exceptional veterinary care with empathy and excellence.
  • Be the onsite leader, ensuring your clinic is operationally sound and emotionally healthy.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a diverse team of humans who care deeply.
  • Collaborate on hiring and onboarding with an eye toward both skill and cultural fit.
  • Own and optimize the schedule to ensure flow, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Manage performance, give meaningful feedback, and champion growth.
  • Contribute to a thriving business by upholding operational excellence and financial health as foundations for sustainable, high-quality care.
  • Model and maintain a culture of kindness, curiosity, accountability, and humor.
  • Advocate for your clinic and make sure the team’s voice is heard in broader company conversations.
  • Jump in where needed—whether it’s on the floor, in a client conversation, or in a strategy meeting.
  • Manage direct reports and work closely with shift leads.
  • Work with clients experiencing emotional distress and/or frustration.
  • Handle uncooperative patients.
