About The Position

Course explores philosophical challenges raised by spiritual and religious pluralism given the apparently conflicting accounts of concepts such as the nature of the self, the Absolute or God, the meaning of salvation, enlightenment, and conceptions of the sacred. A wide variety of perspectives are addressed, including non-Abrahamic non- theistic and atheistic spiritualities, e.g., Zen Buddhism, Advaita Vedānta, Daoism, and Indigenous Spiritualities and practices.

Requirements

  • PhD in Philosophy.
  • Internal member of the CTF bargaining unit.
  • Submit a CV (max 10 pages).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lecture instruction for the course PP314: Philosophy of Spirituality, Religion, and Pluralism.
  • Prepare and deliver course content virtually and asynchronously.
  • Manage class size of anticipated 30 students.
  • Adhere to the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement.
