About The Position

A new opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Powerhouse Stationary Engineer – Electrician. As a highly valued team member of our Stationary Engineers, you will be looking after the operation and maintenance of: Steam Boilers, Generators, Air Compressors, Dryers, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Pumps, Cooling Towers, Substations & Switchgear, Water Conditioning Systems for City, Process, RO, DI & Industrial Waste. Additionally, you will perform pump out duties to remove industrial chemical waste. In many cases you will monitor the condition of our systems using computer-controlled Building Management and SCADA Systems. Rolls-Royce maintains a 3-shift operation 7 days per week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus one of the following: Completed a formal apprenticeship or have 8 years of equivalent training to qualify as a Stationary Engineer Journeyman, OR Completed a formal apprenticeship or have 8 years of equivalent training to qualify as an Industrial Electrician Journeyman
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and scaffolding etc.
  • Must be able to work any shift and overtime including weekend
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a fork truck
  • Must have specialized training and/or experience in the operation and maintenance of the types of equipment listed above.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Operates, adjusts, and maintains utilities equipment, to maintain uninterrupted steam, water, gas, and electrical supply in aid of Manufacturing and Test operations within Indianapolis
  • Lubricates dismantles, inspects, cleans, calibrates, replaces worn or damaged parts and tests Power House machinery and equipment.
  • Conducts high voltage electrical switching in local substations
  • Checks wells, cooling towers, electrical unit load centers and sub-stations, gas facilities, etc.
  • Uses typical pipefitter, electrician and mechanic hand tools, power tools, measuring and testing equipment, to perform a variety of miscellaneous duties incidental to Power House operations and Waste Water treatment.
  • Makes routine and special checks of all equipment and controls, while performing routine and emergency maintenance work as required.
  • Operates production waste treatment systems, including the pumping and removing of chemical waste.
  • Works both inside and outside on equipment in all kinds of weather.
  • Requires considerable walking and climbing.
  • Frequently works around all types of moving machinery, might pressure steam, high voltage, etc.
  • Often works under hazardous conditions handling acids, cleaning boilers and in extremely noisy area.
