This role involves performing the duties of a Power Plant and Substation Electrician, including installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic, computerized, and electrical equipment as assigned. The position is part of IBEW Local 204 and is a Journey level role.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work from construction prints, wiring diagrams, and instruction books.
Ability to make sketches of wiring circuits and maintain prints up to date.
Familiarity with and understanding of operating principles of power plant, computerized controls, substation equipment, and other assigned equipment.
Proficiency in using test instruments: oscilloscope, wattmeter, phase angle meter, signal generator, electronic coupler, phase shifter, and other required equipment.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot and maintain communication, data processing, and computerized control equipment.
Keep operating records as required by the Company.
Maintain solid state devices, computers, telemetering equipment, protective relays, and switchboard instruments.
Work from construction prints, wiring diagrams, and instruction books.
Make sketches of wiring circuits and maintain prints up to date.
Be familiar with and understand operating principles of power plant, computerized controls, substation equipment, and other assigned equipment.
Use test instruments such as oscilloscope, wattmeter, phase angle meter, signal generator, electronic coupler, phase shifter, and other required equipment.
Keep abreast of new equipment installed and test equipment required to maintain it.
Assist in training journeyman and apprentices.
