Power Integrity Engineer

Hewlett Packard Enterprise•Chippewa Falls, WI
•Onsite

About The Position

The Power Integrity Engineer will work on a blend of signal integrity and power integrity tasks while collaborating on the design of high-end CPU, GPU, and networking systems. The engineer will develop high-power, high-current power distribution systems, focusing on low-noise distribution, high transient currents, and isolation from sensitive clocks. The role requires strong digital and analog skills to support advanced compute systems. This role is designated onsite, with the expectation that the employee will primarily work from an HPE office. The engineer will design electrical and electronic solutions, develop and implement design parameters and test plans, and collaborate with management and internal and outsourced development partners. The position also leads project teams, represents the electrical hardware team on larger development projects, and mentors less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a bachelor's degree with equivalent experience.
  • Typically 4–6 years of experience.
  • Strong digital and analog skills.
  • Experience using electrical design tools, including SPICE modeling, circuit modeling, and simulations, and software packages such as HFSS, ANSYS, PowerDC/PowerSI, and Allegro.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits.
  • Ability to use empirical analysis, modeling, and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs, as well as thermal and emissions management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of English and the local language.
  • Ability to communicate product architectures and design proposals effectively and negotiate options at management levels.

Responsibilities

  • Design engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms using established engineering principles and development technology practices and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement parameters, processes, and test plans for new and existing designs.
  • Validate tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal performance, and system power measurements.
  • Collaborate and communicate with management, internal development partners, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Lead project teams of electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions for complex products.
  • Represent the electrical hardware team during all phases of larger and more complex development projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members.

Benefits

  • Health and wellbeing benefits supporting physical, financial, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Personal and professional development programs to support career goals.
