About The Position
NMC Cat is hiring a Power Generation Technician (Field Service) to support customers in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is critical in maintaining backup and primary power systems that customers depend on every day. NMC Cat has been providing reliable equipment and exceptional service for over 85 years. Experience with Caterpillar generators is not required, and we encourage candidates with transferable mechanical or electrical experience to apply.
Requirements
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, diesel, or industrial equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical information and follow repair procedures.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage field service assignments.

Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on generator and power generation equipment at customer locations.
- Perform preventative maintenance on generators and power systems.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, controls, and related components.
- Troubleshoot generator performance issues and equipment failures.
- Complete inspections and identify recommended repairs.
- Use service manuals, diagnostic software, and technical resources to support repairs.
- Order parts and complete service documentation.
- Communicate findings and recommendations with customers and internal teams.
- Work safely and independently in a field service environment.
- Collaborate with technical support resources on complex issues.
