Field Service Power Generation Technician
About The Position
We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Louisville, KY. In this role, you will make an impact by completing repair activities on generators or components, engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner, performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools, maintaining detailed records of service, adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and undergoing ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products. You will also be responsible for maintaining your own tools.
Requirements
- A current valid license is required for this role
- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- Basic level field service work experience
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products
- High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
- Customer service experience
Nice To Haves
- Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Current relevant electrical certification
- Locally valid driving permit
- this position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Responsibilities
- Completing repair activities on generators or components

- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
- Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
- Basic Diesel Engine experience.
- Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
- Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation.
