Power Generation Field Service Technician
About The Position
Curtis Power Solutions, a subsidiary of Indel Power Group, has an opening for an experienced Power Generation Field Service Technician at our location in Sterling, Virginia. This individual can be looking to start their career or have previous experience as a technician. Indel Power Group is a distributor/dealer for major brands such as mtu, Daimler/Mercedes, Perkins, PSI Engines, Detroit Diesel, Kohler, Cummins, Caterpillar, and Volvo Penta. Requirements
- Previous experience as a technician
- Ability to use low and high voltage load banks for testing and repair of generator sets
- Ability to determine corrective action through inspection of failed parts
- Ability to order replacement parts and services in efficient and effective manner
- Ability to perform electrical and mechanical repairs to the engine, generator, or components
- Ability to perform startup and commissioning on large genset units with automatic transfer switches
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Must be able to work in areas with temperature and/or humidity extremes
- Good vision to inspect repair work
- Effective communication skills

Responsibilities
- Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls
- Commitment to safety and cleanliness
- Maintain open communication with management team regarding job status, updates, and changes
- Use low and high voltage load banks for testing and repair of generator sets
- Determine corrective action through inspection of failed parts
- Order replacement parts and services in efficient and effective manner
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to the engine, generator, or components
- Perform startup and commissioning on large genset units with automatic transfer switches
- This position requires occasional driving
