About The Position

Apple’s iPhone Hardware Engineering team is seeking a passionate electrical engineer for a multidisciplinary, cross-functional lead engineering role focused on power conversion system design. The role collaborates with and provides architectural guidance to cross-functional engineering teams to define and establish system power architecture requirements for new products.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience and a BS or MS in a relevant field.
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
• Experience designing and developing power electronics, including DC-DC converters, LDOs, and PMICs or PMUs.
• Knowledge of power, analog, and integrated circuit design fundamentals, process development, and analytical methodologies for high-quality designs.
• Experience designing architectures for complex power conversion systems or power management ICs.
• Strong board-level laboratory testing, debugging, and validation experience using equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and signal generators.
• Ability to use scientific and systematic methods to troubleshoot and resolve multidisciplinary system issues.
• Experience with layout planning and routing strategies.
• Ability to relate electrical performance to physical layout and system-level solutions, including passive components and controls.
• Experience collaborating across functions.

Nice To Haves

• At least 7 years of experience.
• A PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience taking projects from conceptual phase through product ramp-up and mass production.
• Knowledge and work experience with integrated circuit process technologies, design flows, reliability, and related topics.
• Experience performing or guiding complex power distribution network (PDN) design for sophisticated power conversion systems.
• Experience with PMICs or PMUs.
• Knowledge of and hands-on experience with circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools, such as Cadence/Sigrity, ADS/Spice/Spectre, Ansys HFSS/Maxwell/SIWave, and CST.
