About The Position

The iPhone Division is seeking an Analog & Power Systems Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team developing next-generation iPhone products. This individual contributor role covers analog disciplines including power management subsystems, wired and wireless charging, and mixed-signal functions such as audio, sensors, and signal interfaces. The engineer works across development stages with Apple hardware and software teams, contract manufacturers, and IC vendors. Depending on their background, the role may focus on power architecture and PMICs, charging systems and battery management, analog/mixed-signal circuit integration, or a combination of these areas. The role bridges analog circuit design and system-level architecture. It calls for understanding mixed-signal building blocks, power conversion topologies, charging systems, and low-power sensor interfaces, as well as addressing system-level challenges such as power sequencing, interference mitigation, PCB layout, thermal management, and digital interface design. Familiarity with portable, low-power consumer electronics and an interest in developing high-quality, high-volume products are expected.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals in power conversion and analog circuits, including op-amps, filters, and ADCs/DACs.
  • Understanding of noise, linearity, and signal integrity in mixed-signal systems.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and digital meters.
  • Experience with circuit prototyping, characterization, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with portable, low-power consumer electronics.
  • Understanding of mixed-signal building blocks, power conversion topologies, wired and wireless charging, and low-power sensor interfaces.

Nice To Haves

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in power management, including SMPS, linear regulators, PMICs, system power architecture, or camera flash/laser drivers.
  • Experience with charging systems, including wired or wireless charging, high-efficiency DC-DC converters, or battery management such as gas gauges, BMUs, and charger ICs.
  • Experience with low-power sensors and sensor interfaces, audio analog circuits, or mixed-signal subsystem integration.
  • Prior collaboration across hardware, software, mechanical, and thermal engineering disciplines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and drive complex tasks to completion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation skills and comfort working with IC vendors and contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Bridge analog circuit design and system-level architecture.
  • Work with Apple internal hardware and software teams, contract manufacturer teams, and IC vendor teams across development stages.
  • Address system-level challenges including power sequencing, interference mitigation, PCB layout, thermal management, and digital interface design.
  • Depending on background and focus, contribute to power architecture and PMICs, charging systems and battery management, or analog/mixed-signal circuit integration.
