Postdoctoral Scholar - Redwing Group - Materials Science and Engineering
About The Position
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral scholar. The final candidate will be expected to perform world-leading 2D materials research on synthesis, characterization, layer transfer and processing, present results at technical conferences and prepare manuscripts for submission, and assist with preparation of reports for research sponsors, and scientific outreach to the broader community. Rich opportunities will be available for innovative equipment and development, advanced materials characterization and deep collaborations with theoretical/computational efforts focused on materials growth.
Requirements
- a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Nanomaterials, Nanotechnology, or a related field by the time of hire
- experience in characterization and processing of 2D materials
- excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
- ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment
Nice To Haves
- experience with layer transfer and characterization of chalcogenide thin films is a plus
