The Department of Materials Science and Engineering, in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral scholar. The final candidate will develop phase-field models and computer codes of mesoscale structure evolution, study the physics of structural, ferroelectric, electronic, and piezoelectric responses of mesoscale domain structures, assist writing proposals to funding agencies and Penn State seed programs, co-supervise graduate students and undergrad students, and prepare manuscripts for publications and research reports to sponsors. This is a term position, funded for one year from the date of hire with the possibility of renewal based on mutual agreement, university need, performance, and/or availability of funding. Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
