About The Position

The postdoctoral researcher will join the EMIT core team at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to improve data products for the next mission phase and support the growing science community. EMIT is a visible-shortwave infrared imaging spectrometer aboard the International Space Station that provides radiance, reflectance, and other data products for scientific and applied use. The position’s research may cover the full range of EMIT mission activities, with a research plan matched to mission needs and the appointee’s expertise and interests. The appointee will conduct research in collaboration with a JPL advisor and publish the results in the open literature. Postdoctoral Scholar appointments are for a minimum of one year and may be renewed up to a maximum of three years. Applicants should submit a CV, representative publications, contact information for three references, and a cover letter describing research accomplishments and interests. Applicants may be subject to additional NASA program requirements.
