The Engaged Research and Evaluation Center (EREC) within Michigan State University’s University Outreach and Engagement seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher skilled in quantitative research methods and experienced with large-scale cross-sectional and/or longitudinal datasets. The position focuses on a mixed-methods evaluation of Michigan Out-of-School Time (OST) programs, including federal- and state-funded initiatives to expand access to high-quality learning and enrichment opportunities outside regular school hours. Working with Dr. Xuran Wang, who leads the study’s quantitative components, and a collaborative research team led by principal investigator Dr. Jamie Wu, the researcher will prepare analytic datasets and conduct descriptive and advanced quantitative analyses. The role includes working with linked administrative, OST attendance, and survey data; contributing to peer-reviewed publications and policy- and practice-focused research products; and presenting findings to academic, practitioner, and policymaker audiences. EREC examines the access, quality, and impact of programs serving the public good and translates research findings into accessible products for diverse audiences. Its interdisciplinary team conducts participatory and qualitative inquiry, measurement development and validation, quasi-experimental studies, and advanced quantitative and mixed-methods analyses. This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position beginning January 1, 2027, and is designated remote-friendly, with remote work performed as mutually agreed upon.
