The Department of Environmental Health Sciences at Tulane University’s Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for an NIH R01-funded program investigating the effects of prenatal exposure to extreme heat and wildfire smoke on autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The fellow will join a multidisciplinary team led at Tulane by Dr. Md Mostafijur Rahman, with support from investigators at USC and Kaiser Permanente Southern California. The project integrates environmental exposure assessment, epidemiologic methods, geospatial analysis, and electronic health records to assess climate-related exposures and early-life neurodevelopment in a large pregnancy cohort. This position offers an opportunity for an early-career scientist interested in environmental epidemiology, climate and health, neurodevelopment, and advanced quantitative methods. The fellow may also mentor graduate and undergraduate students, gain teaching experience, contribute to future NIH grant applications, and receive career development and mentorship through an experienced team and the NIH-supported Southern California Environmental Health Sciences Program. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a cover letter describing research interests and career goals, one representative publication, and contact information for at least three professional references. Inquiries may be directed to Dr. Mostafijur Rahman at [email protected].
