Postdoctoral Fellow

Tulane•New Orleans, LA

About The Position

The Department of Environmental Health Sciences at Tulane University's Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for an NIH R01-funded research program investigating how prenatal exposure to extreme heat and wildfire smoke may affect autism spectrum disorder. The fellow will work with a multidisciplinary team, including Dr. Md Mostafijur Rahman at Tulane, Dr. Rob McConnell at USC, Dr. Anny Xiang at Kaiser Permanente Southern California, and other investigators. The project combines environmental exposure assessment, epidemiologic methods, geospatial analysis, and high-quality electronic health records to study climate-related exposures and early-life neurodevelopment in a large pregnancy cohort. This position offers an opportunity for an early-career scientist interested in environmental epidemiology, climate and health, neurodevelopment, and advanced quantitative methods. The fellow will have opportunities for mentorship and career development through an experienced research team and the NIH-supported Southern California Environmental Health Sciences Program, as well as possible student mentoring and teaching experience.
