This position supports Dr. Jung Hwan Kim’s laboratory, which develops quantitative neuroimaging methods using structural and functional MRI. Current research includes cerebrovascular and hemodynamic studies in healthy adults and imaging biomarkers after mild traumatic brain injury. Collaborative projects include DECT measurement of brain water content after subarachnoid hemorrhage and multimodal MRI studies of occupational exposure in firefighters. The small, collaborative team works closely with physicians, neurosurgeons, and public health researchers, with opportunities to participate directly in NIH-funded studies, publications, and grant applications. The fellow will conduct human MRI experiments and analyze brain imaging data using MATLAB and neuroimaging tools. The work supports studies of brain function in healthy adults and clinical research involving mild traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and firefighter brain health. A biomedical postdoctoral position provides early-career researchers the opportunity to gain experience, develop independent research skills, and contribute to scientific knowledge in their field.
