About The Position

A clinical and research postdoctoral fellow position in pediatric diabetes is available in the Pediatric Division of the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The fellow will also work within the Department of Endocrinology at Children’s Hospital Colorado. The position is funded by an NIH T32 Institutional National Research Award and provides systematic training in specialized knowledge and skills related to pediatric diabetes management. Core training experiences include research, clinical care, research program development, and teaching and consultation. Primary mentors are licensed clinical psychologists with active research programs in pediatric type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and fellows may receive additional mentorship through team collaborations. Educational opportunities include grand rounds, didactics, and seminars. Approximately 75% of the fellow’s time is spent on research and 25% on direct clinical care. The position is hybrid, with three days per week on campus and additional in-person attendance as needed for meetings. The role is based in a multidisciplinary pediatric diabetes division that provides care to more than 4,000 patients and their families. The position requires a PhD in clinical, counseling, or school psychology, or a related field, before the fellowship begins. Applicants with degrees in clinical, counseling, or school psychology must complete an APA-approved internship before starting. Clinical experience with children and adolescents is required. The University conducts background investigations for prospective employees. Individuals working, visiting, or volunteering in healthcare facilities or clinics operated by affiliated partners or CU Anschutz must comply with those facilities’ vaccination and medical surveillance policies; certain research areas or safety-sensitive duties also require enrollment in the occupational health medical surveillance program.
