About The Position

Develops and implements a research program, or specific studies within a research program, in an area of research of importance to the mission of Boys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH). This role involves participating in the design, implementation, and completion of individual studies within the cancer research program, accurately maintaining notebook records, and publishing and presenting research results. The position also requires collaboration with other research and clinical staff on mutually beneficial research problems that advance the program's goals. Additional duties may be assigned by a supervisor as needed.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in an cancer related discipline and strong research potential, as indicated by completion of a research-oriented training program required.
• Active participation in research leading to publications in refereed journals and/or presentations at national meetings required.
• Apply knowledge of the relevant literature and research procedures.
• Apply knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and computer applications appropriate for the field of interest.
• Communicate concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Work well with other professional personnel and with support staff.

Responsibilities

• Publishes and presents research results and other material relevant to the research program in appropriate forums, including refereed journals and national meetings.
• Collaborates with other members of the research and clinical staff on research problems of mutual interest that further the general goals of the research program.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate research assistants and technicians.
• Travel as necessary to attend meetings.
