Postdoctoral Research Associate, Mathematics (Multiple Positions)
About The Position
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Arizona invites applications for Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in Tucson. Appointments begin in Fall 2027 and are made year to year, renewable for up to three years depending on satisfactory performance and funding. The appointee will maintain an active research program and participate in a robust professional development program. The normal teaching commitment is nine units per year, equivalent to three one-semester courses per academic year; additional duties may be assigned. The department seeks candidates with excellent research potential and a strong commitment to teaching who will contribute to and benefit from its academic environment. Applicants should identify up to three potential faculty mentors and explain in their research statement how their research can benefit from and enhance the department’s research endeavors. The selected candidate must have a conferred Ph.D. upon hire.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field.
- The Ph.D. must be conferred upon hire.
- Excellent research potential.
- Strong commitment to teaching.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an active research program.
- Teach a normal load of nine units per year, equivalent to three one-semester courses per academic year.
