About The Position

The University of Arizona Department of Astronomy and Steward Observatory are hiring two Postdoctoral Research Associates to conduct research related to direct imaging of exoplanets. Associates will work with faculty, including Logan Pearce and Ewan S. Douglas, and researchers in the University of Arizona Space Astrophysics Lab and Center for Astronomical Adaptive Optics on high-contrast imaging exoplanet science. The work may include modeling and observational research in preparation for next-generation exoplanet direct-imaging campaigns, in coordination with instrument-building teams for space- and ground-based platforms. The role offers access to Steward Observatory facilities and the opportunity to submit independent science proposals, as well as participate in outreach and student engagement. The associate will develop and lead an independent research agenda focused on high-contrast imaging of exoplanets and debris disks, and communicate results through publications and presentations. They will also develop research initiatives and collaborations, contribute to relevant publications and events, and help foster a welcoming academic environment through collaborative meetings and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. Additional duties may be assigned.
