About The Position

The Kyprianou lab is NIH funded and is well established in the field of translational research. The candidate post-doc will use a wide array of techniques including bioinformatics, immunohistochemical analysis of tumor tissue, pre-clinical PDX models, transgenic mouse models, isolation of extracellular vesicles from serum, flow-cytometry and molecular biology techniques (including RT-PCR, confocal microscopy) to define the underlying mechanisms of emergence of metastatic therapeutically resistant tumors and identify extracellular vesicles (EVs) as biomarkers of tumor progression. As part of their academic training in translational cancer research, the post-doc will be participating in the urology research meetings, journal club, research seminar series at the Tisch Cancer Institute, at mentor guidance. Moreover, the post-doc is expected to write & submit research articles for publication in urologic oncology under the mentorship of Dr. Kyprianou. It is anticipated that all or most of the experimental work will be performed at Annenberg, Floor 24.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant scientific field.
  • Experience with bioinformatics.
  • Experience with immunohistochemical analysis of tumor tissue.
  • Experience with pre-clinical PDX models.
  • Experience with transgenic mouse models.
  • Experience with isolation of extracellular vesicles from serum.
  • Experience with flow-cytometry.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques (including RT-PCR, confocal microscopy).

Responsibilities
