The Postdoctoral Fellow will join the Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism Institute laboratory studying pancreatic beta-cell biology, including beta-cell failure, adaptive expansion, and stress resilience in metabolic disease. The project examines transcription factor dynamics, including the ChREBP axis, and cytoprotective mechanisms. The fellow will investigate early drivers of beta-cell failure and evaluate therapeutic small-molecule 14-3-3 molecular glues, such as Compound 43, designed to protect beta-cells from glucolipotoxicity and cytokine stress. The research aims to clarify pathways that mediate beta-cell failure and validate interventions that preserve beta-cell mass and function. The fellow is expected to drive the project toward high-impact peer-reviewed publications, present findings at national and international conferences, and contribute to grant applications. The work is based at 1428 Madison Ave, Atran Building, 5th floor.
