Emory University’s Department of Epidemiology at the Rollins School of Public Health is hiring a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow. The fellow will receive advanced research training and mentorship from Dr. Joshua D. Wallach at Emory University and Reshma Ramachandran at Yale University while developing research skills and independence for a future career. The fellow will contribute to a federally funded project conducted in collaboration with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The project evaluates evidence supporting patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures used in clinical research and pharmaceutical regulation, using systematic review and psychometric methodologies to assess the measures’ validity, measurement properties, applicability, and supporting evidence for use as clinical trial endpoints. The successful candidate will lead one or two independent research projects intended for publication in high-impact medical journals and contribute to a grant evaluating the role of real-world evidence in clinical, regulatory, and policy contexts. Related opportunities may include work in clinical research methodology, meta-research, and the generation, evaluation, and synthesis of evidence for regulatory decision-making. This is a temporary research-trainee appointment initially lasting one year, with possible renewal for a second year depending on funding and performance. The general appointment may be renewed when progress is satisfactory and funds are available, but cannot exceed five years. Salary is based on the NIH postdoctoral research salary scale.
