The Post Doctoral Fellow designs and conducts research in a specified field while receiving advanced training and mentorship from a Principal Investigator. The role supports the development of professional skills and research independence. The specific research area is determined by the department and laboratory. This fellow will integrate and analyze neuroimaging and proteomics data to investigate mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, developing and applying statistical, machine learning, and other computational methods. The fellow interprets results in the context of disease biology, prepares scientific manuscripts, presentations, and reports, publishes in peer-reviewed journals, presents at scientific meetings and conferences, and contributes to grant writing and new research projects. The position involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and may include operating equipment, teaching techniques, and training or supervising research staff. This is a temporary research-trainee appointment. The initial appointment is one year, with renewal expected when progress is satisfactory and funding is available. Appointments may not exceed five years. Work is generally performed in person at an Emory University location; remote-work days may be granted at department discretion, and Emory may change remote-work status with notice.
