About The Position
The Santos lab with the Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to assist with collecting preliminary data and writing a grant proposal targeting the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). The candidate will use soft-tissue staining techniques appropriate for fluid-preserved museum specimens, collect micro-CT scans of museum specimens, segment 3-D images, perform preliminary analyses and create figures, write a grant proposal targeting NSF, and prepare manuscripts to be submitted for publication.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in a biological sciences field
- Experience using soft-tissue staining techniques for micro-CT scans
- Knowledge of soft-tissue anatomy in fishes
- Experience writing proposals and obtaining funding for research
- Experience writing manuscripts and publishing scientific research articles
