About The Position

The Laboratory of Neuromodulation for Epilepsy within the Emory National Biomedical Research Center (ENBRC) and the Translational Neuro-Engineering Research Laboratory (TNRL) located in the Department of Neurosurgery at Emory University are currently seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to join their team on a joint position. Our work consists of studying the mechanisms of seizure termination and their pathways throughout the brain. We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Neuroscience or another closely related field awarded within the past three years. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, independent, and detail-oriented, have a positive attitude, and a passion for research. The fellow will be a team player who is willing to learn on the job and collaborate with lab members and center members, and ensure the highest quality of laboratory research support with good communication skills. Requirements

• A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS, etc) in an appropriate field.
• Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
• PhD in Neuroscience or another closely related field awarded within the past three years.
• Highly motivated, independent, and detail-oriented.
• Positive attitude and a passion for research.
• Team player willing to learn on the job and collaborate with lab members and center members.
• Good communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Helps design and conduct research within a specified field while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career.
• Designs and evaluates experiments.
• Develops new ideas that promote current research.
• Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
• May be responsible for operation of specific equipment.
• May teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff.
