Join the Department of Pharmacology and contribute to innovative cardiovascular research as a Postdoctoral Fellow. This position offers an exciting opportunity to expand your research expertise, lead laboratory operations, mentor developing researchers, and work toward independent funding.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will perform animal handling and basic animal procedures, genotyping, standard molecular biology techniques, cell culture, and experiments requested by the Principal Investigator. This role will also support general laboratory operations and maintenance while supervising a laboratory group consisting of students and laboratory staff.

Additional duties include training new employees and students in basic laboratory techniques and overseeing staff compliance with University, State, and Federal guidelines for the safe operation of a laboratory. The selected candidate will be expected to pursue independent funding and develop research in collaboration with the cardiovascular research team.

This position is ideal for a motivated researcher who is ready to strengthen their scientific expertise, provide laboratory leadership, and advance meaningful cardiovascular research.

Requirements

• PhD in Bioscience or related field
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Responsibilities

• Performing animal handling and basic animal procedures
• Conducting genotyping and standard molecular biology techniques
• Maintaining and working with cell cultures
• Performing experiments as requested by the Principal Investigator
• Supporting general laboratory operations and maintenance
• Supervising a laboratory group consisting of students and laboratory staff
• Training new employees and students in basic laboratory procedures and techniques
• Ensuring laboratory personnel comply with University, State, and Federal guidelines for safe laboratory operations
• Working toward independent research and funding in collaboration with the cardiovascular research team
• Other duties as assigned
