About The Position
The Sutter Laboratory in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Memphis is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow with strong experience in molecular and cell biology. You will join a NIH-funded multi-disciplinary team focused on the pharmacodynamics of aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) ligands and their system level effects on skin biology.
Requirements
- PhD in a Life Science discipline.
- Strong experience in molecular and cell biology.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and immunology.
- Experience using complex analytical methods such as RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and metabolomics.
- Experience in cell culture models.
- Experience in animal genetics.

Responsibilities
- Conduct research in a laboratory setting that focuses on the pharmacodynamics of aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) ligands and their system level effects on skin biology.
- Perform complex experiments using analytical methods of biochemistry, molecular biology, and immunology.
- Perform experiments including RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, metabolomics, and flow cytometry.
- Perform experiments in primary cell culture, organotypic culture and in vivo, in rodents.
- Maintain good laboratory record keeping.
- Participate in research compliance.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
- Train others.
- Write and submit scientific manuscripts.
