We are looking for a postdoc who will work under the guidance of Prof. Vincent Aleven in the HCI Institute, on two sponsored projects. The first project is an IES-funded project focused on mathematics learning in blended middle school classes using intelligent tutoring software (ITS). This project involves a classroom study to evaluate a teacher support tool called Lumilo 2, which runs on smart glasses and provides decision support to teachers. The goal is to understand how real-time analytics affect teacher help and student learning, potentially leading to more personalized K-12 math classrooms. The second project, funded by the NSF, investigates the use of Generative AI to speed up the creation of domain models for ITS authoring, specifically within the CTAT tool. This project aims to understand how Large Language Models (LLMs) can be used with human oversight to generate effective educational content and represent procedural knowledge for instructional purposes, ultimately contributing to the wider adoption of ITS.
