About The Position

The Agroecology Lab at the University of Maryland invites applications for a Post-doctoral Associate to work on the Options to Adapting to Rising Seas (OARS) project, which is focused on developing a decision support tool for woodlot owners in Maryland who are experiencing coastal stressors like saltwater intrusion and sea level rise. The Post-doctoral Associate will join a team of interdisciplinary researchers working to significantly improve the resilience and well-being of coastal communities in the Mid-Atlantic. This position offers a unique opportunity to utilize quantitative environmental science research methods to help bridge the gap between science, practice, and policy.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in quantitative social science, resource economics, geography, environmental science, or a related field with a strong emphasis on science-informed decision support.
  • Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data and presentations.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25lbs.
  • Regularly required to operate a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with working with geospatial databases and web-based tool development are strongly preferred.
