About The Position

Keeps the premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention center, arena, or other institutional buildings clean and orderly by performing cleaning and related duties. No supervisory responsibilities are included. The role requires no prior experience or training, no computer skills, and no certifications. The employee must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence, write simple correspondence, communicate information in English in one-on-one and small-group situations, perform basic arithmetic, and use common sense to carry out simple instructions and handle standardized situations.

Requirements

No prior experience or training required.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and to write simple correspondence.
Ability to present information effectively in English in one-on-one and small-group situations.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, including using American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and handle standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
No computer skills needed.
No certifications needed.
Must be able to meet the role's physical demands, including frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Sweep, scrub, finish, and polish floors.
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
Dust furniture and equipment.
Polish metalwork.
Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays.
Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
