About The Position

This is a temporary to hire, full-time, hourly position supporting Brooklyn office and facility needs. The role involves cleaning and maintaining various areas, providing facilities support and light maintenance, and ensuring safety, supplies, and accountability. The schedule will be based on operational needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, push, pull, sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean throughout an 8-10 hour shift.
  • Ability to lift or move 40 pounds regularly without assistance and heavier items occasionally with help or proper equipment.
  • Comfortable working around cleaning chemicals, wet floors, normal warehouse or dock activity, and changing building conditions.
  • Reliable attendance, strong follow-through, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to use cleaning chemicals, basic tools, and simple tracking logs safely and correctly.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous janitorial, porter, custodial, facilities, or building-support experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain offices, restrooms, kitchens, breakrooms, conference rooms, hallways, entrances, and other assigned common areas on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.
  • Empty trash, restock paper goods and soap, vacuum or mop floors, wipe and disinfect surfaces, and keep touchpoints, fixtures, and employee areas clean and orderly.
  • Monitor conditions throughout the day and address spills, clutter, restroom issues, and other housekeeping needs before they become safety or appearance problems.
  • Perform basic facility-support tasks such as replacing liners, changing simple consumables, moving light furniture, setting up rooms, and helping maintain janitorial closets and supply areas.
  • Report building, plumbing, lighting, fixture, furniture, dock, or other facility defects promptly and follow escalation procedures for issues requiring outside repair or management follow-up.
  • Support safe housekeeping around the office, dock, and adjacent work areas and help ensure walkways, exits, and employee spaces remain clear and usable.
  • Follow all company safety rules, PPE expectations, chemical-handling instructions, and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Maintain janitorial supplies and notify management when chemicals, paper products, liners, or cleaning tools need replenishment.
  • Communicate recurring cleanliness concerns, unusual facility conditions, or employee misuse of common areas to management in a timely and professional manner.
