About The Position

The Porter is a member of the store team responsible for maintaining buildings and facilities in a clean, sanitary condition in accordance with TravelCenters of America standards. The role helps provide customers with a pleasant environment and a clean, sanitary experience. The position works in a service-focused environment and may involve exposure to outdoor elements, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, grease, oil, gas, fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise.

Requirements

Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Ability to talk and hear regularly.
Ability to occasionally stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend over, crouch, crawl, climb, and use legs repetitively.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or move heavy objects.
Visual abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Clean all areas of the facility as directed and provide guests with a clean, sanitary environment.
Follow safety and security guidelines and procedures; identify and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or guests and take corrective action when necessary.
Wear and use protective equipment properly and safely.
Know the quantities and types of cleaning supplies used for each cleaning assignment.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
