About The Position

TravelCenters of America’s Cook is a key member of the restaurant team, responsible for preparing and presenting quality food to guests. The role includes prep and grill cooking, following recipe specifications and plate presentation guides, completing food safety and temperature documentation, and maintaining equipment and safe work practices. Cooks work in a customer-service-focused environment and coordinate with leaders and coworkers to meet restaurant and guest needs. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and sorting them.
• Set up broiler, fryer, and grill stations according to line check sheets.
• Prepare products to guest specifications and follow plate presentation guides.
• Complete prep, freezer pull, and temperature checklist sheets.
• Follow safe food handling, storage, and waste-control procedures.
• Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations involving team members or customers.
• Maintain equipment according to operating standards.
• Prioritize work according to restaurant and guest needs.
• Communicate and build rapport with leaders and coworkers.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
