About The Position

The Cook is a key member of the restaurant team at TravelCenters of America, responsible for preparing and presenting quality food to guests. The role supports a convenient dining experience for travelers and works in a team environment focused on customer service.

The Cook performs food-preparation and grill-cooking tasks, follows guest specifications and plate-presentation guides, completes required preparation and temperature checklists, and observes food-safety, storage, waste-control, and equipment standards. The position may also include other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform prep tasks such as washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients.
• Set up broiler, fryer, and grill stations according to line check sheets.
• Prepare products to guest specifications and follow plate-presentation guides.
• Complete prep, freezer-pull, and temperature checklist sheets.
• Follow safe food-handling and storage practices and waste-control procedures.
• Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
• Maintain equipment according to operating standards.
• Prioritize work according to restaurant and guest needs.
• Build strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
