About The Position

This is an Advanced Supervisory Internship for Rising Seniors in the Food and Beverage department at Farmington Country Club. The intern will gain exposure to all areas of the Seasonal Operations department, including the Poolside Grill and 10th Tee Snack Bar, within a large, private club environment. This internship is designed to supplement an academic program in hospitality management or a related field. The intern will develop and demonstrate knowledge through various trainings and structured conversations with managers. Key responsibilities include leadership roles in scheduling, requisitions, inventory, and payroll, as well as supporting the Assistant Manager in daily operations and managing the Poolside Grill team. The internship offers valuable lessons in team management, bar and beverage operations, member relations, department budgeting, and front and back-of-house coordination. In addition to in-depth training in seasonal outlets, interns will participate in various educational programs, workshops, and departmental shadowing opportunities to foster comprehensive professional development.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a college degree program in hospitality management or similar academic field.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to the duties and responsibilities associated with this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working or training in food and beverage service at a private club preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take on various leadership responsibilities within the operation such as scheduling, requisitions, inventory, and payroll.
  • Support the Assistant Manager with running the day-to-day operations and managing the Poolside Grill team.
  • Learn valuable lessons on managing a team, bar and beverage operations, building connections with members, department budgeting and front & back of house relations.
  • Participate in club-sponsored training offered during the internship period, which may include Safety Certification Training (First Aid, CPR, AED) and Safe Beverage Service Training (TIPS).
