About The Position

Farmington Country Club is offering a Supervisory Internship for Rising Seniors in the Blue Ridge Room, focusing on Upscale Dining. This internship is designed to supplement an academic program in hospitality management or a related field. The intern will gain exposure to all areas of the Upscale Dining department within a large, private club environment. Through structured trainings and conversations with managers, the intern will develop and demonstrate knowledge in managing a team, bar and beverage operations, building member connections, department budgeting, and front & back of house relations. In addition to in-depth training within the Blue Ridge Room, interns will have opportunities to participate in various educational programs, workshops, and shadow other departments. Regular feedback and evaluation will be provided through bi-weekly meetings and performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a college degree program in hospitality management or similar academic field.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to the duties and responsibilities associated with this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working or training in food and beverage service at a private club preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take on various leadership responsibilities within the restaurant.
  • Assist the Blue Ridge Room Manager with running the day-to-day operations.
  • Learn about managing a team, bar and beverage operations, building member connections, department budgeting, and front & back of house relations.
  • Participate in educational program opportunities such as CMAA Education Session & Club Tour.
  • Meet with General Manager/COO and Assistant General Manager to discuss career goals.
  • Shadow and work in other departments.
  • Attend various workshops throughout the summer, including Resume/Cover Letter, Employment Law, Beverage, Golf & Racquets, Finance, Governance, Communications, Membership, and Culinary Operations.
  • Attend beneficial meetings for intern development.
  • Participate in club-sponsored training, including Safety Certification Training (First Aid, CPR, AED) and Safe Beverage Service Training (TIPS).
