About The Position

Restaurant Servers will greet and serve guests in accordance with South Seas standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and sanitation, and in a gracious and professional manner. This position requires direct communication and hospitality procedures with all guests daily, pre-shifting with fellow staff and management for all restaurant operations, properly setting all tables and stations, following appropriate set-up checklists, taking guest orders, serving all food and beverage items in a timely manner, proper treatment and storage of food and company equipment, completing daily shift operation reports, communicating all special guest requests to the kitchen, detailing every table and menu before each meal period, assisting with bussing tables ("pre-bussing"), and having an understanding of how to read and execute a Restaurant BEO form. The role also requires possessing thorough food, wine and cocktail menu knowledge, exercising a positive attitude and warm hospitality image, following the associate schedule and work assignments, and performing other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle background check will be completed
  • Must be 18 years old or older to hold this role, serving/selling alcohol in state of FL
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations - can receive with South Seas)
  • Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State regulations - can receive with South Seas)
  • Fluent in English language, must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English; other languages valuable.
  • This position holds multiple job functions at once, a great multitasker.
  • Must show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
  • Works well in stressful, high-pressure situations – fast paced environment.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns or issues raised by coworkers and/or guests.
  • Teamwork is essential and critical in this role.
  • Impeccable standards of appearance and grooming.
  • Maintains proper associate uniform standards and footwear which is slip resistant, enclosed toe and heel.
  • Position requires you to be able to stand, walk, bend and stoop for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able work in different types of extreme weather, including high temperatures.
  • Position will be required to work indoors and outside.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field is preferred
  • 6 months experience with a background with serving, basic bartending, cashiering is a plus
