About The Position

Responsible for supervising a variety of swimming and recreational activities at a municipal pool. Ensures the efficient and safe operation of the pool for patrons’ convenience, enjoyment, and safety. Work is performed under close supervision, with minimal latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must pass United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) or equivalent agency training and requirements, or successfully complete a training academy within three months of hire.
• Must have American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor Trainer, and Pool Operator certifications.
• Must have First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications.
• Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification at the level determined by job classification requirements, or obtain it within one year of employment.
• Must be able to perform each established essential function successfully.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer and/or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer.
