About The Position

Sea Colony Recreational in Bethany Beach, Delaware, is hiring a part-time Pool Lifeguard. The role is within a fast-paced, hospitality-focused property organization and involves supervising swimmers, maintaining pool safety and cleanliness, and supporting guest activities. The position pays $18.00 per hour. Employees must have American Red Cross Lifeguard certification by their first day of work.

Requirements

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Must have American Red Cross Lifeguard certification by the first day of work.
• Must complete an interview and a swim test consisting of a 400-yard freestyle swim.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and applicable health codes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and observe swimmers at all times to ensure their safety.
• Administer first aid for minor injuries, such as small cuts and bruises.
• Enforce rules of conduct.
• Perform pool maintenance, including checking chemicals and vacuuming the pool.
• Check first aid supplies and report needed items to management promptly.
• Organize and monitor pool games and suggest poolside games.
• Skim bugs and other debris from the pool surface and empty the automatic skimmer.
• Clean and organize the pool area at the end of the day.
• Maintain records required by the department manager.
• Incorporate safe work practices into job performance.
