Seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist Apprentice for a part-time position (24 hours biweekly) with night shifts, working 12-hour shifts. Availability for at least one shift per week, including Friday nights, is required. This role is located at the Sleep Center/Pulmonary Clinic at Baptist Health Floyd in the Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky area. The apprentice will perform duties defined for a polysomnographic technologist under the direction of the Sleep Center Supervisor or a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). The apprentice will train and perform comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, including diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care, and education. The role involves acquiring a solid knowledge base in clinical applications of polysomnographic studies, timely analysis of studies, and generation of summary reports for medical staff review. Responsibilities include assisting with polysomnographic procedures (PSG for nightshift, MSLT’s, MWT’s), equipment maintenance, cleaning, stocking, and ordering. The apprentice will also be responsible for the timely analysis of home sleep studies and generation of summary reports for interpretation, as well as scheduling and insurance pre-authorizations as needed.
