Overview To provide under the direct supervision of the Medical Director and Sleep Center Director the highest quality of care within the scope of sleep medicine and respiratory care in regards to evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders for all ages of patients of The Children's Mercy Hospital (CMH). Demonstrating expertise in clinical practice specific to polysomnographic technology and respiratory care for the patients. Provides accurate documentation of services performed, provides instruction for students and assists with orientation of new employees. Completes other tasks as assigned. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited CAAHEP program with a sleep technology education included.
  • 3-5 years experience- three years experience as a technologist providing studies with primary patient population of adult patients.
  • Three years clinical experience as a pediatric respiratory therapist with one or more years as a technologist.
  • HS diploma or equivalent and: 3-5 years experience RPSGT with 5 years of Polysomnography technology experience may be accepted in lieu of an Associate's degree
  • Certified Polysomnographic Technologist RPSGT
  • Registered by Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Registered Respiratory Therapist and CAAHEP program graduates can assume role and will have a 1 year grace period to achieve registration) RPSGT credential required within 12 months. Required 1 Year
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Preferred Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Preferred
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Upon Hire
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilizations (PEARS) Required 90 Days
