About The Position

Looking for a student to work 3 hours per week for the ‘26-27 school year, assisting with research on changing contextual conditions for nonviolent political activism. The student worker would collect evidence of the use of lawfare to discourage protests and the use of creative strategies of protest. This collection would require the ability to use library, media and social media resources and to conduct interviews. Weekly meetings with Prof. Thalhammer are required.

Requirements

• Completed Analyzing Politics (PSCI 220).
• Ability to use library, media, and social media resources.
• Ability to conduct interviews.
• Work is manageable from campus, using library and computer resources, including Google Meet.

Nice To Haves

• Taken or currently taking PSCI 370.

Responsibilities

• Collect evidence of the use of lawfare to discourage protests and the use of creative strategies of protest.
• Summarize and create a file of images and news stories.
• Conduct and/or transcribe interviews.
• Create a bibliography of sources accessed.
• Attend weekly meetings with Prof. Thalhammer.
